If you want a personal funeral that reflects the unique life of the person who has died, call – and come in and talk to us.
Down to earth, simple, traditional, or an all-day event – it is the life of the person who has died that guides us, and for this we’ll be led by you and your family.
As you tell us about what you want, about the life and times of the person who has died, the funeral plans will emerge. No matter how simple, it will be a unique and characterful event that they themselves would have been pleased to attend.
You no longer need to follow the ‘default’ model of funeral that we’ve all attended and felt isolated from. Nor should you have to choose a range of services in a prescribed package format.
From our wide experience, we can help by knowing the procedures, the choices, the many sensible, practical ways in which the funeral can reflect the life and character of the person who has died; this way the funeral can create new – even wonderful – memories, and leave you, your family, and all who were there feeling fulfilled – even uplifted.
This is where we are different
We will work with you to design and arrange exactly the type of funeral that you and your family feel is right for the person who has died. We will work with you to understand what you want, make a plan, and then make it all happen smoothly.
You can have as much – or as little – involvement as you would like at every stage of the process. If you prefer, you can leave everything to our professional team, knowing that it will all be done exactly as you would want.
You can have anything from a traditional burial or cremation service, or simpler – more intimate – forms of these, to a full-on formal burial at sea. Simply tell us your thoughts about it all, and we will work with you to refine and arrange the funeral with you, always checking in to keep you informed.
You can contact us at any time for funeral assistance
Whether you have just suffered a death in the family, or if you have someone close who is terminally ill and you only want to talk, you can call us at any time, 365 days a year. We will guide you through each stage.
We also offer the option of a pre-payment plan for your funeral arrangements. There is real relief in knowing everything is planned and paid for. Your family will know what you wanted, in itself a help at a difficult time for them; and they won’t have to find the money themselves. A pre-payment plan lowers the overall value of the estate and therefore in some cases can have an impact on inheritance tax.
We are here to help, so please contact us today by calling us on 01453 767 769. Or email us.

Family Tree is Stroud's only independent funeral director. We offer traditional and green funerals which are always personal and memorable.
Our aim is to work with you to make it special, and then make it all happen smoothly.
